The purpose of this session is to highlight several common project issues and to discuss how tools can be selected and deployed to increase team efficiency and transparency. To illustrate the process for selecting, deploying, and improving project management tools, a case study will be presented showing how the American Chemical Society is using SharePoint and other applications to manage the full life cycle of IT projects.Jennifer Arndt has more than a decade of IT experience, specializing in the areas of Project, Program, and Portfolio Management, as well as IT Operations and Process Management. She has managed the IT PMO for the American Chemical Society for the past 7 years and has led organizational improvements in Project and Portfolio Management, Knowledge Management, Enterprise Architecture Planning, and Business Process Management. Jennifer holds PMP and PgMP certifications and volunteers with PMI both on the PgMP credential and as an editor on the second edition of the "Portfolio Management Standard". She is in the process of earning her MBA through the University of Baltimore/Towson University program, and was featured as a Subject Matter Expert in the book "IT Project Management: On Track From Start to Finish" by Joseph Phillip.
