Topic Abstract: This presentation highlights an approach to using the different tools that a PM has at his/her disposal to help see and identify risks. Tools addressed include those near and dear to our hearts through the PMI Project Risk Management Process Knowledge Area: document reviews, information gathering techniques, performing preliminary analyses (checklist, assumption), performing diagramming techniques such as cause and effect diagrams, flow charts, influence diagrams, Strengths / Weaknesses / Opportunities / Threat (SWOT) analysis, and the all wonderful, all useful expert judgment. Dependencies between risks and how to determine the best approach for soliciting info on risks ON YOUR project will be offered. Bio: Ms. Joann Heck - is PMI-RMP and PMP certified with 28 years of program/project management experience. Ms. Heck has been with SRA International, Inc. for 12 + years. The past 5 years she has focused on the project startup and planning activities necessary to assist project teams to identify, analyze, respond to, and manage project risks while achieving corporate and customer objectives. Joann is a Process Manager in the Execution Quality (EQ) organization where she assists PMs tailor and use the SRA Processes to develop effective and efficient approaches to meeting their project requirements. Prior to SRA, Ms. Heck was the Quality Assurance Manager at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) where she led a team of QA and Configuration Management (CM) officials on the En Route Software Development and Support Contract (ERSDS) at the FAA Technical Center in Pomona, NJ.Time and Location Information
