Using Project Management Techniques Running for Public Office

Wayne Smith has lived in District 32 for thirty four years. He and his wife Linda have raised two children, Nate and Vicki. Both are graduates of Glen Burnie High School and UMBC. Wayne has a Bachelors of Science degree in Medical Technology from the University of Delaware. He also has a Master of Science degree in Management Information Sciences from Bowie State University. He is a certified Project Management Professional. Wayne has 30 years of experience in both hospital and physician practices. He has had a steady progression of increased responsibility and is now a senior director of Information Technology for the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. As one of six senior directors leading the Clinical Practice Association, his leadership helps Johns Hopkins continue to be the "Best of the Best" year after year. Their collective responsibility includes managing the schedules and revenue of 1600 physicians and 1 million patient visits per year. Wayne's community service includes president of his 400 member HOA, soccer and basketball coach, scout leader, overseas church building coordinator, and, as a professional model maker, volunteer at the USNA museum.
