Development: All About PDU's |

|
As part of your continuing development as a Project Management Professional, you are required to re-certify every three years. This is accomplished by earning a total of sixty (60) Professional Development Units (PDUs) over that time period. PDUs are awarded for continuing your education through project management-related formal courses and seminars, participating in PMI activities, writing articles for project management-related publications, serving as an officer in the local PMI chapter, and others. Since May 15, 1999, PMI Baltimore Chapter has been authorized to award PDUs for our mini-classes as well as qualifying programs presented at our regular dinner meetings. To report activities for PDU credits, complete a Professional Development Activities Reporting Form and forward it to the PDP Records Office. Retain all relevant supportive documentation in a personal PDP folder for a minimum of 12 months after the PDP cycle has ended. |
Each year, a percentage of PMPs will be randomly selected for auditing purposes. In such an event, the supportive documentation in the PDP folder would be used to substantiate the activities that have been reported by the PMP. Visit the Certification area of PMI's web page for the form and for complete PMP Professional Development Program instructions. Please save your meeting attendance slips in your personal PDP folder. You might also want to keep a copy of the newsletter announcing the speaker and program to remember it by. Refer to the PMP Handbook for additional information. If you attended any Chapter meetings or mini-sessions during this period and have no documentation, please contact Eric Perlstein, PMP, VP of Programs, at eric@pmibaltimore.org. |
